Harnett County, N.C. (September 24, 2013) – The Harnett Health Foundation will host its 8th Annual Benefit Weekend on Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5. This year’s theme is “The Sky is the Limit.” The weekend’s events kick off with a golf tournament at Chicora Country Club on Friday, October 4 and conclude with an Annual Celebration on October 5. In addition, the Foundation is holding a raffle for a chance to win three outstanding prizes. Proceeds from these fundraising efforts will be used for a Women’s Imaging Center and a new CT Scanner.

“People may wonder why the Foundation is in existence and why we support Harnett Health through fundraising efforts,” said 2013 Harnett Health Foundation Board Chair, Cornelia T. Stewart.

Harnett Health President and CEO Ken Bryan continues, “Funding from the government and from private insurance programs provides essential health services, but do not cover everything. The Foundation’s role is to fill the remaining gap through fundraising, while also providing a personal touch for patients with extraordinary needs and while working to expand access to care for our community.”

Stewart remarks, “Our annual benefit weekend is an excellent opportunity for people in the community to express their support for Harnett Health, our local safety net healthcare system that provides care for people in our area. The Sky is the Limit on showing your support!”
