DSCN0033Harnett County, N.C. (July 3, 2012) – Harnett Health System held a construction worker appreciation event on Monday, July 2 to thank the men and women who have tirelessly worked on the construction of Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, N.C.

“We want to demonstrate our thanks to the hard working people who have given their time and talent to the construction of our new hospital,” said Mike Jones, Vice President of Central Campus and Support Services. “These folks have labored for months to make the new Central Harnett Hospital a reality, and we are sincerely grateful.”

Harnett Health System provided a cookout, including homemade ice cream, for construction workers onsite of the new hospital. Members of the Harnett Health System leadership team including members of the Board of Trustees and of the Betsy Johnson Hospital Foundation attended to personally thank the workers for their efforts. Also in attendance were representatives from Brasfield & Gorrie, the construction company building the hospital.

“As Central Harnett Hospital is nearing completion, we all look forward to its opening in January,” said Harnett Health System President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Bryan. “We want this new facility to be the cornerstone of continued economic development and access to quality healthcare in Harnett County.”

Cornelia T. Stewart, Vice Chair of the Harnett Health System Board of Trustees, commented, “Today is one of the greatest highlights of all my years in Lillington. Today I realize that people working together with a plan for our community is a gift from God. I believe that every laborer, official and supervisor should be given a hearty thank you for making this new hospital happen.”
