Goals: I desire to work in a family medicine clinic in a rural town after completing my residency at Harnett Health. As a National Healthcare Service Corps scholar, I am required to work in an underserved area for four years after residency. I am from a small town in North Carolina, so I like the idea of working in an underserved area. I hope to stay in the North Carolina and continue to work in Harnett or Johnston county. I also enjoy working with the DO and PA students, so I can see myself continuing to work with them as clinical faculty.

Why Harnett Health?:  I really enjoy rural medicine, and Harnett Health has a lot to offer in regards to underserved need.  Although they are a smaller hospital system, they have an abundance of pathology that is not always seen at all hospitals, as well as excellent training staff. The faculty at Harnett Health are extremely passionate about medicine and teaching and will take the time to explain things one-on-one with the residents. Also, since Harnett Health has partnered Campbell University’s medical school, physician assistant, and pharmacy school, there are always opportunities to learn new things from different perspectives, and it is enjoyable to also learn with a team in a relaxed and positive environment.
