Harnett Health has dedicated a rose that will be on the 2014 Donate Life Rose Parade float in the upcoming 125th Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif. on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014. The rose will be displayed in a special water vial with an attached dedication tag and placed in a dedication garden on the float.

“We learned of the opportunity to dedicate a rose on the float through Carolina Donor Services, and we are very excited to show our support through this dedication,” said Debbie Priebe, RN, Harnett Health Quality Performance Improvement Specialist and liaison for Carolina Donor Services.

Priebe continues, “The name of the 2014 Donate Life Rose Parade float is Light Up the World in recognition of the individuals and families impacted by organ and tissue donation and transplantation. We wanted to echo the theme of light in our dedication, but had only a very small space to write on the dedication tag, so our message is ‘Shine On!!! Harnett Health’s Board of Trustees, Executives, Medical Staff, Employees and Volunteers’. We hope the parade float will shine a spotlight on the positive impact of organ and tissue donation.”
