Harnett Health will launch an online check-in system for its Emergency Rooms on January 9, 2014. The service, called ER Express, allows patients with non-life-threatening illnesses to go online and hold their spot in line at the emergency department.
Patients who need treatment but are not in a life-threatening situation will be able to go online to www.HarnettER.org and view the next available time to be treated at the Emergency Room at both Betsy Johnson Hospital and Central Harnett Hospital. Once the confirmation e-mail is sent to the patient, he or she can remain comfortably at home while waiting to be seen rather than in the waiting room of the hospital. ER Express will help organize patient flow so that all patients are treated more timely and efficiently.
ER Express is currently being implemented in many hospitals across the nation with consistently positive feedback from patients.
